ABOUT SCARLET RAVEN
We are a passionate collective of artists who believe in making tattoo art accessible while celebrating the curious and unusual. Located in Coon Rapids by the AMC theater off Highway 10 (next to Sammy’s Pizza and Caribou), our women-owned studio creates a welcoming space for everyone. Our gallery of oddities—from taxidermy to metaphysical items—complements our artistic vision and creates an atmosphere unlike any other tattoo shop in Minnesota.
HOW THIS WORKS: TERMS & CONDITIONS
OFFER ELIGIBILITY:
• This promotion is valid for the first 50 individuals who complete the opt-in form on this page between April 20-30, 2025.
• Participants must be 18 years or older with valid government-issued photo identification.
• Limit one free tattoo per person. Multiple registrations will be disqualified.
• This offer is for new clients only who have not previously received services at Scarlet Raven Tattoo Shop.
TATTOO SPECIFICATIONS:
• Free tattoo size is strictly limited to 1″ x 1″ (one inch by one inch).
• Designs must be selected from our promotional flash sheet only. No custom designs or modifications will be accepted for the free promotion.
• The promotional flash sheet includes approximately 30 pre-designed options in various styles.
• Placement is limited to areas approved by the artist as suitable for the selected design.
• Color options are limited to black ink only. Color upgrades are available for an additional fee.
CLAIMING PROCESS:
• Complete the opt-in form on this page between April 20-30, 2025.
• You will receive a confirmation email with your position number in the free tattoo lineup (1-50).
• You may also opt-in by visiting our shop in person and completing the form with our staff.
• All participants must verify eligibility by presenting valid photo ID when they come in for their appointment.
• If all 50 spots are filled when you submit your form, you will be automatically added to our waiting list.
APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING:
• After opt-in confirmation, you have exactly 45 calendar days to schedule and complete your tattoo appointment.
• Appointments are subject to artist availability and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
• If you fail to schedule and complete your appointment within the 45-day window, your spot will be forfeited to the next person on the waiting list without exception.
• Rescheduling is permitted once with at least 24 hours’ notice, provided the new appointment still falls within your 45-day window.
REDEMPTION LIMITATIONS:
• The free tattoo offer cannot be combined with any other promotions or discounts.
• The promotional value cannot be applied toward larger tattoos, though you may choose to upgrade to a larger design by paying the difference.
• The free tattoo offer has no cash value and cannot be transferred to another person.
• Gift certificates will not be issued in place of the free tattoo.
HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
• You must arrive sober for your appointment. Artists reserve the right to refuse service to anyone appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or substances.
• You must disclose all medical conditions, allergies, and medications on your intake form.
• Pregnant individuals and those with certain medical conditions may be disqualified based on health and safety protocols.
• All standard tattoo aftercare instructions must be followed. Failure to do so may void any touch-up policy.
Meet THE Crew!
Kristy
Kristy grew up less than two miles from the shop (according to Google Maps on her phone), so getting to open Scarlet Raven Tattoo that close to where she spent her whole childhood feels like a “full circle” moment for her.
After leaving her childhood home, Kristy received a Bachelor of Science in Ecology, Evolution, and Animal Behavior from the University of Minnesota.
After THAT, she had four beautiful and hilarious children, with the older two lending their (middle) namesakes to this very tattoo shop.
When Kristy is not piercing, running the shop, or being an embarrassing mom, she likes to hang out with her cats (the clear golden boy is Leonidas aka Mr. Peepers), her dumb dogs (the clear golden girl is Mystic the Mistake), and her oldest daughter’s pigeon (her six year old son named him Mr. Pigeon Cybertruck).
She also loves the ASOIAF books and shows (that’s Game of Thrones stuff for those of you that are not complete dorks like she is), though she does also enjoy Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, horror movies, vulgar comedies, Marvel movies, and true crime documentaries.
She’s also plant based, and will probably cry if you bring her vegan food you made or picked up from somewhere (she does not like to cook, at all).
Someday she dreams of buying an RV and driving anywhere she can, with the pet fox she is determined to one day own.
Allie
Allie grew up in Mounds View, MN and spent a lot of time working with her mom at a local vet clinic as a veterinary assistant and then as a veterinary technician.
Allie definitely knows her way around needles and wound care so you are in excellent hands with her! We all think it’s perfect that she has combined her creativity with her stellar understanding of anatomy and cleanliness.
Allie lives the nerd life with her favorite nerdoms are Supernatural, Mass Effect, spooky stuff, true crime, and musicals. Allie has three creatures that masquerade as cats, Luma, Morticia (aka Mo), and Loki.
She also has a human son Isaac, who has the cutest smile on Earth! She loves tattooing pinups, bones, and nature stuff.

Taylor
Born and raised in Minnesota, Taylor has been in the piercing industry since late 2010. After graduating High School she briefly attended the University of Minnesota and discovered her love for all things body art while working at a shop front desk. It was then that she made the choice to pursue piercing as a career and has been licensed since 2012. She currently lives in Saint Paul with her partner Tyler, their son Ryder (that they just welcomed in November of 2024, and their three cats (Bellatrix, Detective Munch, and Rollie). Her favorite piercings to do are eyebrows, conches and microdermals/surface work.
Izzie
Izzie is Kristy’s piercing apprentice, and has been working with the crew (Kristy, Allie, and Bri) for over a year! She is at the beginning of her apprenticeship and is looking to get the numbers she needs to complete that apprenticeship! Call for more details about discounted prices for apprentice piercings!
Izzie grew up in a few different areas of Minnesota, she loves her family and friends, and her babies (her cats). She loves any and all things that are beautiful and cool looking, like art, decor, fashion, jewelry, makeup, you name it! She is a lover of music and film, TV Shows, movies, etc. and will analyze all the characters, the relationships between them, and anything else you could possibly analyze. Some of her favorite genres are horror, comedy, cartoons, and anything that combines them!

Bri is one of our front desk employees and has worked with Allie and Kristy in the body art industry for over a year now.
Bri grew up in NE Minneapolis and loves animals, thrifting, and plants! She is great at answering any questions you may have on the phone or in the shop!

What if I can’t make an appointment within the 45-day window?
Unfortunately, if you cannot schedule within the 45-day period after claiming your spot, the offer will transfer to the next person on our waiting list. No exceptions can be made due to the limited nature of this promotion.
Do I need to be 18 for the free tattoo?
Yes, you must be 18 or older with valid government-issued ID to participate in this promotion.
Can I apply the free tattoo offer toward a larger or custom design?
The free offer is specifically for a 1″x1″ flash design. However, you can discuss upgrading to a larger or custom piece with your artist, with the promotional value applied as credit.
What health and safety protocols do you follow?
We adhere to all Minnesota health department regulations and industry best practices for sterilization, single-use needles, and hygiene protocols. Our shop is fully licensed and our artists are professionally trained in bloodborne pathogens.
Is there anything I should do to prepare for my tattoo appointment?
Arrive well-hydrated, having eaten a meal beforehand. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.
